Early Box Office: 'Paranormal Activity 3' Scares Up $8 Million from Midnight Showings
It looks like you found a reason to go to the movies. 'Paranormal Activity 3' -- the ghost story by way of Betamax -- took in an estimated $8 million from its Thursday midnight showings, $2 million more than 'Paranormal Activity 2' earned during its opening midnight. While projections initially pegged 'PA 3' to gross around $35 million over the weekend, it seems like the thriller could pull down as much as $45 million by Sunday night. Not that Moviefone HQ is surprised. [via LAT/24 Frames] EARLIER: 'Paranormal Activity 3': By the Numbers [Photo: Paramount] Follow Moviefone on Twitter Like Moviefone on Facebook
